Morgidge Commons
The Morgridge Commons is a popular location for students to study, faculty and staff to meet colleagues, and for the entire university community to gather informally. Use of this space as a location to foster informal gathering demonstrates the school’s commitment to our students and the community. Though it is not equipped as a formal event space, events which center the student experience, provide career opportunities, and support the strategic goals of the school may be held in the Commons.
Lounge
- this is the commons default set up
- has maximum capacity of 60
- includes a mixture of soft seating along the west wall and by the fireplace, a cluster of 2 top tables in the center, and a a number of bar height tables along the exterior wall overlooking the plaza
Lecture
- Lecture set up most frequently utilized for entertaining prospective students and their families
- maximum capacity is 80 seated in rows down the center of the space, with some additional soft seating and standing room only along perimeter.
Reception
- Reception set up as a stand alone event or to support certain Wisconsin Idea Room events.
- has a maximum capacity of 100
- includes soft seating along the west wall, four high tops arrayed in a chevron pattern towards the rear of the space, a podium at the front of the room, and catering tables along the exterior wall.
Poster Fair
- Common set up for career and end of semester project fairs.
- Maximum capacity 100
- 9 easels arrayed in a square through the middle of the space with soft seating and standing room only along perimeter.
Wisconsin Idea Room
The Wisconsin Idea Room is the School of Education’s marquee seminar and space. This space features premium furnishings and cutting-edge equipment, making it the ideal setting for important school and campus-level meetings with donors and dignitaries. It is also available for departmental meetings and gatherings and can be utilized for large groups of 20 or more.

- includes 12 tables arrayed in a grid with 5 chairs each, and a panel table up front for four, and catering tables on the west wall.
